Synesthesic Candor

Flourite Space Jammer, 2014, illustration by Jonathan Solter

Words can’t express,

Nor shudder.

They can merely hold me,

In the rhythm of the rain.

Igniting an uproar in stained glass,

Animating the clarion of vanity.

All my sins

Would sneak & whisper to me

Fables of eons

The currents shift and crumple

They scatter in tumult

The gleaming orbs

Candles immersed in pallor,

Remain glistening

In line like angels

Forests of water pillars which hold ceilings,

Of breathing blue.

Tourmaline eyes

Glinting in non-light

Sipping deeply from the cosmogonic calyx…

Admiring its details,

Flawless and doubtful.
